Colin Diggs is NOT your average singer. If you look up “average singer” in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, it’ll say clearly “Not Colin Diggs.” Colin “Diggity Dog” Diggs is a Junior Tenor who thoroughly enjoys examining other Juxtaposition members’ foreheads. In fact, a famous quote of his is “That is just an exquisite forehead. Perfect size, perfect shape.” Known for wearing a shirt with a large hole around his left armpit, Colin redefines the norms of style on a daily basis. Colin is a firm believer in stepping out of your comfort zone when it comes to fashion which is why he has been spotted on many occasions walking around campus dressed up like Harry Potter. The man/myth/legend is the polymath of our generation, as he exemplifies mastery over music, business, fashion, humor, and much, much more. Ultimately, Colin is the ideal man for any and every job.

Dijuan “Mr Fabulous” Gilbert is the most fabulous man in the entire world. Dijuan is pronounced Duh-wan, and does not like to be referred to as the brand of mustard. Dijuan’s parents are both major fashion designers, one in France and one in Italy. Being a music and fashion double major, Dijuan knows a thing or two about fashion himself. The minute Dijuan walked into the room, we were floored by his extreme vocal control and his incredible style. Dijuan complains a lot about receiving the question “is that jawline even real?” But he always answers, “Yes, yes it is.” Dijuan has the tightest man bun in the world. Dijuan loves to shop, which only emphasizes his impeccable style. . When Dijuan gets older he wants to be in a jazz flute band led by Adam Levine. This is of course after he creates his own fashion empire under the label “Dijuän”. More than anything, Dijuan loves to sing good and look good while doing it.

Nathan may seem like your ordinary Junior at Virginia Tech, but don’t be fooled by his charming demeanor. There is more than meets the eye with Nathan. At first impression Nathan’s dazzling smile, impeccable hair, and bubbly personality are prevalent. His position as an RA in Pritchard Hall may seem to reflect a sensible man, but we are all skeptical. During the day, he spends his time learning about Finance and contributing angelic tones as a baritone to Juxtaposition, but at Night Nathan has a secret Identity. Only those closest to him can detect small glimpses of the alter ego of Nathan Rusli. There are many speculations to this secret, including; Is he the Hokie Bird? Is he a foreign spy? Does he have a strange addiction to watching Powerpuff Girls in a princess onesie? The world may never know the depths of Nathan Rusli.

When Jake "What's in the Kitchen" Cook isn't burning up the stage with raw dance moves or serenading pedestrians with his powerful, sultry voice he likes to spend his free time watching and memorizing the lines to the Disney Channel Original show "Jonas." He owes his passion for music to Joe Jonas, his idol, and to his mother who, by the way, was deeply disappointed in him when he quit choir after Middle School. When she asked him, he replied with "YOLO" and returned to "Jonas" Episode 5, Season 2 "America's Sweethearts" and longed for the day when the big stage would be his. Now,  Jake has cemented his standing as one of the most huggable and arguably cuddliest members of the group.

James Gilchrist, our assistant music director recently entered into the twilight years of his career at Virginia Tech.  When he’s not busy buying new sports cars to assure himself that he’s still young, he’s hanging out with freshmen trying to relive his glory days.  James spends his time working with Dijuan to ensure that the group is up to par musically, keeping busy and trying not to think about Karen or the kids and how she’s giving away the dog, can you believe it?  That was his dog, that HE bought.  His large vocal range allows him to sing tenor or bass, adding versatility to Juxtaposition’s ranks with the beautiful voice that originally won Karen’s heart all those years ago.

Dawson "Are You in Good Hands?" Naccarato is a sophomore Computer Science major from Stevensburg, Virginia who has a better bass voice than the Allstate guy. When he wasn't fixing mayhem for his loyal customers growing up, Dawson enjoyed playing baseball, tending to his cattle, sheep , chicken, and serenading the local honeys. He is really a jack of all trades except for the fact he can’t grow a full beard to save his life. Despite this, his ability to lasso in any girl on campus is astonishing.

Raised from the depths of Northern Virginia, Chase Hummel was voted "Most Likely to Take Home To Your Parents" in high school, Chase Hummel truly is the king of first impressions. His strikingly large, but beautiful smile only adds to his irresistable charm. Chase REALLY likes to have fun, almost too much fun at times! A fun fact about Chase is that, not only is he a world traveler (having traveled to over 94 countries) but is certified in almost every water sport there is, even professional paddleboarding! With the support of his loving older sister, this tenor is bound leave a mark in the group.

Christian "Dirty Boi" Mergl is our father and savior. The talented, silky smooth bass is a senior in Mechanical Engineering and is completing his Juxta legacy soon. Inside rehearsal he leads the boys as the resident music man extraordinaire and babysitter, teaching his children how to sing and get along. Outside rehearsal, this fun-loving man owns the world. As he takes Luna for a walk, men bow down to him, women cry for him, and children follow him. When he enters a room, all rise. When his name is spoken, there is a disturbance in the force. Wherever he goes, Christian is the epitome of a leader and a real man and we all learn from him a lot more than just music.

Drew “All Day” Edgar came to us from the historic streets of Leesburg, VA. He joined the Virginia Tech community to study mechanical engineering and show off his smooth runs with his boys in Juxta. “All Day” Edgar was called into duty before he could finish his time in Juxta though, and took a year off to defend our country overseas. While overseas Drew learned to love again, and placed 2nd in Season 9 of Arab Idol. He returned to us last year, ready to resume his duties holding down the bass line without missing a beat. You can hear his sweet pipes on Juxta’s Break Up In a Small Town, and he might just bring you some Kung Pao Chicken if you’re lucky.

Henry “Fox” Mason is one of the most talented creatures to ever inhibit the Blacksburg area.  He was first noticed by Juxta when he appeared on Ylvis’ “What Does the Fox Say?” in the form of a fox. When Juxta realized he could sing, they called upon the Juxta gods to turn him into a man. Since transforming into human form, he has flourished in a way that no fox ever could. He’s become a legend in the Juxta community and can snatch any solo he wants with his furry little paws. He has also become the founding father of a new fraternity on campus. When Henry graduates college, he plans on starting a business in the sales field with a twist. For every person who purchases whatever he’s selling, he will sing them a song. With this brilliant idea, nobody would be surprised if Henry “Fox” Mason becomes a multibillionaire someday.

Skyler "Sky High" Vondeben is a Baritone from the middle of nowhere, NY. He just recently declared his Aerospace Engineering major. He would have done so already, but he wasn't aware until recently that shouting it from the Pylons doesn't count. After this important realization, he made an appointment with his advisor. This man is really passionate about music, in fact his dream is to be an Astronaut and be the first man to play Juxtaposition's newest album "Faking It" (available now) in space! Females prepare, he's already taking applications for one lucky lady to embark on this grand adventure with him. Activities include horror movies, zero gravity piano playing, and free dark chocolate! In the meantime while Skyler is on Earth we're happy to welcome him into Juxta and look forward to many more semesters with him!

Alex “Busy Boy” Buchanan. From the heart of Midlothian, his dulcet tones fill out the largest baritone section Juxtaposition has ever seen. His musical abilities are an inspiration for all of the Juxta guys and many more to come. But his talents don't stop with music. He is a professional water slide tester, spending the warm summer days making sure your pools are fun for the whole family. In the winter months, he spends most of his time studying Computer Science at VT and preparing to take on his side job, frozen lake snowmobile racing.

Matt "Hooked on Phonics" Ballcells is a Sophomore Tenor from the great pastures of Albermarle, VA. When he is not tending to his herd of dairy goats, he can be found working under the hood of his 2018 Prius, his pride and joy. Legend has it that Matt came out of the womb with a wrench in one hand, and a goat in the other. This high-singing boy wonder can only be described as enigmatic and electrifying. This is Matt Balcells. This is Juxta.

Micah “Micah” Mastrovito is a Junior Political Science major from somewhere in eastern Europe. All he will tell us is that was born on a mayonnaise farm, where he would churn from dawn to dusk, crafting his family’s delicious and traditional recipe. Micah’s low bass notes are almost as smooth as his mayonnaise, but not quite. Regardless, this exotic lad is not one you’re going to want to miss, so come see him at our next concert!

Eric “pterodactyl” Tysarczyk is a freshman from the great county of Fairfax, VA. He’s majoring in chemistry but wishes he could switch to vocal performance. When he’s not doing mad pencil twirls or eating sushi, he likes to sing soprano two, sleep, and play Pokémon GO. He enjoys hanging with friends in his beach house in the Caribbean and is a massive fan of buttered sumo wrestling. Eric is 70% soda and needs to drink more water to keep those angelic vocal cords safe. He’s also not pictured in our group shot because he was too short to fit in frame. Eric’s life is a jumbled mess, but he thinks he’ll figure everything out by the end of his first year here at Virginia Tech.

Hailing from a small town north of Philadelphia (Boyertown, PA), Chris “Cangus Khan Three-Meats Beef” Angus is a new member to Juxta. As an intended Aerospace major, he is working towards his dream of being the first man to serenade Elon Musk all the way to Mars. In his free time, Cangus fiddles with laser cutters and CNC routers. Some say that he spends so much time with technology that he is becoming a cyborg, side effect being his monotonous voice, but don’t let that fool you. Chris rewrites his programming to jump between being a baritone and tenor when needed. Chris loves to remind people to stay hydrated and only drinks water. Chris also still kisses his mother on the mouth and fully supports Tom Brady doing the same.

Aidan “Sexy Voice” Clarke is a fresh face to Juxtaposition from the military practice grounds of Dumfries, VA. When he is not janking the haters with his mad parkour skills, he is often caught sketching or studying for his Creative Technology major. In fact, his major perfectly suits his multifaceted vocal range. Tenor 1, Bass 2, he can be whatever you want him to be. Now he sits comfortably in the Tenor 2 section. However, despite the confusion, Aidan finds peace in figuring things out... quickly. In truth, he’s probably already got everything figured out considering that even he “can make gluten-free shrimp scampi taste good.”

Timmy Le is smoooth baritone that has recently rejoined the group to bless the Juxta stage once more with his elegant presence. He is currently working on his senior year studying Telepathy here at Virginia Tech. No one knows how long he’s been reading minds, but it’s a skill that we believe to be very strong. He tells us that he’s simply studying psychology, but we see right through those tricks. This talent is the only logical reasoning behind his ability to woo crowds at any time with that rich tone and gentle falsetto. We’re very glad to have Timmy back in the group and can’t wait to have him contribute to the Juxta sound!
